2nd Annual Catalyst Youth Summit for Substance Abuse Prevention

Join Catalyst students in a statewide student-led youth summit campaign to advocate against the legalization of marijuana in Illinois.

• Learn how to effectively communicate your message to lawmakers and community members.
• Collaborate with youth from all over the state.

Stevenson’s Catalyst will be hosting an informative event entitled “Cannabust.” Members of Catalyst’s marijuana legislation team will present data and facts regarding the impact of the movement to legalize marijuana in the state of Illinois, in particular, the effects this legislation would have on youth. This team has been trained by Smart Approaches to Marijuana and has developed a presentation that they have used to train youth, as well as lawmakers, city board members and law enforcement from across the state. Catalyst hopes to use this youth summit as a kick-off to a state-wide, student-led campaign to advocate against the legalization of marijuana in Illinois. After the training, our hope is that your students will have the ability and tools to educate and advocate community members and policymakers on this critical issue. 

Additionally, the event will focus on engagement between schools, making this a great way for your students to collaborate with other like-minded students in our area. Finally, dinner will be provided!
