Adlai E. Stevenson High School Junior, Ananya Pati, selected to serve as a youth trainer for the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America’s National Youth Leadership Initiative. CADCA is the nation’s leading drug abuse prevention organization, and NYLI works with students ages 13-18 around the country to fight drug use and other problems plaguing their communities.
Pati, co-director of Catalyst, Stevenson’s substance use prevention group, will be training some of the 1,200 students identified by NYLI as community leaders. She will participate in a rigorous “Training of Trainers” course January 13-16 in Arlington, Virginia, to prepare for February’s CADCA National Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C.
In addition, Pati has been asked to speak to approximately 2,000 National Leadership Forum participants during their Capitol Hill Day on February 8. Students from anti-drug coalitions around the country will meet with their Congressional representatives and Capitol Hill staff members for updates on legislation and policy efforts.
Please join us in congratulating Ananya for her passion and commitment to her fellow students and the community!
